How does Hard2Soft work without electricity or salt?
Hard2Soft uses physical ion-conditioning. The media inside the cartridge changes the crystal structure of calcium and magnesium as water comes into contact with it. No chemicals, no electricity, no ion exchange process involved. It works passively through direct contact with water, 24 hours a day.
Does Hard2Soft work for borewell water?
Yes, and this is exactly what it is made for. Hard2Soft is designed specifically for Indian borewell and well water, which tends to be high in calcium and magnesium. It works best when used with borewell-sourced overhead tank water.
Can I use Hard2Soft if my home gets municipal water?
No. Hard2Soft is not recommended for homes on municipal water supply. The chlorine present in municipal water significantly reduces the product's lifespan and effectiveness. If your home receives a mix of municipal and borewell water, please contact the Hard2Soft team before purchasing.
Does Hard2Soft reduce TDS?
No. Hard2Soft does not remove minerals from water or reduce TDS levels. It changes the behaviour of minerals so they stop forming scale, but the minerals stay in the water and the TDS reading stays the same. The water just stops causing damage.
Is Hard2Soft compatible with Sintex or plastic overhead tanks?
Yes. It works with all standard Indian overhead tanks such as Sintex, Penguin, and every other polyethylene tank brand, regardless of size.
What happens to the unit when I clean my tank?
Simply remove the cartridge, rinse it with plain water, and place it back in after cleaning. Tank cleaning does not affect the 10 to 12 month lifespan of the unit.
Is Hard2Soft safe for homes with children and elderly people?
Yes. Hard2Soft is made from certified food-grade materials. It is tasteless, odourless, colourless, non-toxic, and completely chemical-free. It does not change the taste, smell, or safety of your water in any way. Full material documentation and lab test reports are available on request.
Does Hard2Soft keep working during power cuts?
Yes. Hard2Soft needs zero electricity at any point. It works just as well during a power cut as it does when power is on - particularly useful in areas with frequent outages.
Why does my water look slightly cloudy after a few months?
This usually happens between months 4 and 6. It means old scale deposits inside your pipes are loosening and flushing out. This is a good sign - the conditioning is working. The cloudiness is harmless and clears up on its own within a few days.
What is inside the Hard2Soft cartridge?
Hard2Soft contains a certified food-grade conditioning media that is tasteless, odourless, and colourless. The materials are fully safe for use in water supply systems, including those used for drinking. Full lab test reports are available on request.
How will I know when to replace it?
The unit lasts 10 to 12 months depending on daily water usage. The clearest sign it needs replacing is when scale deposits start reappearing on taps or tiles. We recommend setting a reminder at the 10-month mark so you are always covered.
